About three-quarters of the 2,000 objects in the British Museum's collection have been stolen or lost, according to a review released Monday by the museum, The Guardian reported. The main target of the thieves was the "unregistered" jewels of the Greek and Roman antiquities Museum. Parts from another 350 pieces were sold for scrap and 140 pieces were damaged by tools, the report said. So far, 351 of the 1,500 stolen or lost pieces have been returned to museums, and the rest are still missing.
