On the 16th local time,Gold and jewellery are reported to have been stolen from the British Museum's storeroom.

The staff responsible for the missing collection, which dates from the 15th century BC to the 19th century AD, have been sacked. The British Museum has since stepped up security. London's Metropolitan Police are investigating the case.
